A Tight Supercoss Turn

Motocross or Supercross?

When it comes to dirt bike (off road motorcycle) racing, there are two main types of racing; Motocross, and Supercross.  Each of these race types have different advantages depending on the spectator’s opinion.

Motocross races are held on closed off-road circuits.  This extreme sport evolved from the Motorcycle Trials in the United Kingdom.  It is one of the most physically demanding sports in the world, and is held in all weather conditions.

Pinned through the Turn

The tracks usually consist of large up hill climbs, steep downhills, and huge air sections.  Adding the variables of rain and snow make these courses even more thrilling to watch.

Supercross races are just as physically demanding, and are held on man-made dirt tracks made with massive, steep jumps, and obstacles.  The professional races are held mainly within professional football and baseball stadiums, with a few exceptions.

A Tight Supercoss Turn

They tend to have tighter turns and require more technical prowess than motocross tracks due to the limited space of the arenas and stadiums.

Whoops, Doubles, Tripples

There are other styles of dirt bike races, but we’ll save that for another time.
